Dhaka, September 26, 2026 (BSS) — After a slight dip in July, Bangladesh’s apparel exports to the UK rebounded in August. Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data show August exports to the UK grew 10.53% year on year.

EPB data show that in the first two months (July-August) of FY2026-27, Bangladesh exported USD 915.63 million of apparel to the UK, versus USD 882.62 million a year earlier — an increase of USD 33.01 million, or 3.74% YoY.

In July this year, apparel exports to the UK fell 2.44% YoY; August’s 10.53% growth offset the soft start to the fiscal year.

On a monthly-average basis, July-August FY27 apparel export earnings from the UK stood at USD 457.82 million, well above the FY26 monthly average of USD 365.71 million. In all of FY26, Bangladesh earned USD 4.39 billion from apparel exports to the UK; the first two months of this fiscal year run about 25% above last year’s monthly average.

As a share, July-August earnings already equal 20.86% of Bangladesh’s total FY26 apparel export earnings from the UK.

The UK is one of Bangladesh’s main ready-made garment destinations. August’s double-digit growth helps sustain the early-FY momentum in the UK market, and continued growth in apparel exports to the UK should support overall garment exports in the months ahead.
